More about this Plugin

This LaTeX plugin for ScrewTurn Wiki allows you to type mathematical expressions on your Wiki. It simply provides ScrewTurn with an interface to of John Forkosh' excellent software mathTeX.

Configuration

The plugin relies on a MathTeX cgi program (see http://www.forkosh.com/mathtex.html), and the plugin must specify the URL to such a resource. The address is entered into the configuration string of the plugin:
  • Go to Administration/Providers
  • Click in the Formatter Providers radio button
  • Click Select and enter into the settings text box:
    http://www.forkosh.com/mathtex.cgi?

Usage

Try entering:
<latex>[A,B]=AB-BA</latex> {br}
<latex>\sqrt{a^2+b^2}</latex> {br}
<latex>\large e^x=\lim_{n\to\infty} \left(1+\frac xn\right)^n</latex> {br}
...

and you should see something similar to:
LaTeX math output

Licencing

Licenced under the GNU General Public License V3. A complete copy of this license can be viewed here: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html

Important notes

  • Consider installing the MathTeX cgi program on your own server, if used extensively!
  • This tag is case-sensitive, so entering
    <Latex>\sqrt{a^2+b^2}</Latex>
    would not work.
